2014 Jeff Lambert Fishing Tournament Recap

The 10th Annual Jeff Lambert Memorial Fishing Tournament was another enjoyable event at Lake Guntersville. The weather and fish both cooperated to make the experience enjoyable for all. Several new anglers joined the group including Amberry Brown, Claude Thompson, John Sullivan, Baker Brummett, Roddy Parker and Walker Kelley.

Scott Brummett was named the Top Guide award as his boat mates caught 16.65 on Saturday. He won an awesome Aqua Vu 760C underwater camera . Brummett also took home a Mustang life jacket for bringing in the biggest 5 bass stringer to the scales on the boater division with 13.66 pounds. Carolina rigs and Texas rigs accounted for the majority of the weights and the bigger fish this year.

In the non-boater division Ravenwood High senior Jacob Frawley weighed in his five biggest bass for 12.56 pounds winning the division. He won a rod and reel combos from Abu Garcia .

Amberry Brown weighed a 5.85 largemouth to take the Big Bass award on the boater side and won the Aqua Vu Micro underwater camera. Matt Graves weighed a 3.91 fish caught with to win the non-boater Big Bass award.

Rick Frawley was the MVP of the trip handling the meals again. He treated us to the traditional breakfast burritos, bag lunches and a southern meat and three on Saturday night.

Over the weekend we gave away great prizes from Buck Knives, Abu Garcia, Trilene, Berkley Havoc, Flambeau Outdoors, Mustang Survival, ORCA Coolers, and Frogg Toggs.

ORCA Coolers donated a 26 quart cooler to the silent auction to help us break even again this year.

The 2015 dates are set for April 10th 12th at the Lake Guntersville State Park lake view cottages. Mark your calendars now and invite others to attend.
