We were blessed with a day of beautiful weather, delicious food, and a great group of people coming together to support such a wonderful cause...[more] 2011 BACK 40 JUG FISHING TOURNAMENT RECAP July 22, 2011 The 5th Annual Back 40 Outreach Jug Fishing Tournament had a great group of 40 juggers on hand to showcase their skills in bringing in the large cats. Many parts of middle Tennessee were represented with folks coming from Murfreesboro, Smyrna, Lebanon, Old Hickory, Nashville, Goodlettsville, White House, Franklin, Brentwood, Spring Hill, Columbia, Watertown, Cottontown, Mt. Juliet plus a West Tennessean from Martin and a Texan all the way from Tyler...[more] BACK 40 GRILLERS TREAT WOODBINE COMMUNITY July 18, 2011 Back 40 Outreach helped host a community cookout for over 120 residents from the Woodbine area of Nashville. A severe thunderstorm blew through the area at the beginning of the evening. But, it would not put a damper on a fun night of food and festivities. The event was moved to the YES Center where everyone could play and eat dinner in the dry. Before dinner, there was face painting and various games played. Back 40 grilled over 200 pieces of chicken that were served with beans and various desserts. After dinner, everyone enjoyed popcorn and a movie on the big screen... [more] 2011 FROG GIGGIN' TOURNAMENT RECAP June 17, 2011 The 2011 Back 40 Outreach Frog Giggin' Tournament turned out to be one of the largest ever and featured a night of great food, comradery, and competition. The night started out with perfect giggin' weather as giggers from around the region gathered to talk strategy and technique. A variety of delicious sliders (pork, beef, and turkey) along with french fries, tater tots, cold drinks and cookies were served and enjoyed by all. Records were shattered this year as the total weight brought in by all teams was 143.6 lbs. The winning bag was also a record at 42.14 lbs... [more] 2011 JEFF LAMBERT BASS TOURNEY RECAP April 25, 2011 Despite adverse weather on Friday and Saturday morning, Back 40 Outreach's 7th Annual Jeff Lambert Memorial Fishing Tournament was another successful event on Lake Guntersville. Sunday morning greeted us with beautiful weather and renewed spirits. Local angler Les Barbee and Scott Gray caught 14.5 pounds in just a few hours to win a team format event. Les weighed the big bass of 5.9 pounds. The team of Steve Neil and Trevor Coe was second with 13.5 and Dave Matthews, Tim Pate & J.D. Blackburn were 3rd with 10.5 pounds...[more] 2010 BACK 40 KYLE HUTCHISON MEMORIAL DOVE HUNT RECAP Thursday, September 2, 2010 Due to the generous, giving nature of the folks in attendance, over $4,000 was raised for Kyle’s boys!!! Thanks to all who were in attendance and the terrific attitudes shared by all. This size event could prove difficult to coordinate if it were not for such terrific participants. We hope that everyone enjoyed themselves and that we will all continue the success of this annual event together.
